What events in your life have shaped the person you are today?

Many times we don’t realize the very power of our actions until we are the recipient of a random act of kindness that changes the course of our lives.

I was that person many years ago as a I walked along a dark, lonely street contemplating suicide. The scene couldn’t have been plotted better than a screenwriter; it was cold, raining, I was penniless, broken, a victim of a lifetime of child abuse, but something amazing happened…

A total stranger pulled beside me on this dark path and offered me an umbrella in the rain and told me “God loves you.” It was that very act of kindness that not only gave me hope when I needed it the most, but it created a ripple legacy that continues to live today.

Over twenty years later, because of that man’s act, I now carry umbrellas with me to continue that legacy of hope to others and wrote a book about my journey to healing from abuse; a hope to change the world, one ripple at a time…
